LUNCH 'N' LEARN, 2008

Oct. 29

Retirement Choices for Nonprofits & Their Employees

October 29, 2008 from 11:30 to 1 PM.

This session will review the types of solutions available for not-for-profit organizations without retirement plans. We will also address retirement savings tools that staff can use beyond the scope of the agency that employs them.

Not-for-profit organizations, public schools, colleges, and universities that currently sponsor 403(b) plans face increased responsibilities as a result of the regulations issued by the United States Department of the Treasury in 2007.  This workshop will also cover the diagnostic tool developed by the Principal Financial Group to help employers comply with the final 403(b) regulations.

Presented by Michael Mangrum

Michael Mangrum has been involved with not-for-profit organizations for his entire  professional career. With his wife, Daniela, he began missionary/church work in Mexico immediately after graduation from college. Realizing the great need for adequate financial planning in non-profit organizations, he pursued a career in the financial services industry, learning effective ways to enable organizations to fulfill their vision without compromising financial stability.

Prior to working as a financial advisor with Wachovia, he managed a foreign currency exchange desk for a bank in Mexico. Michael and his wife currently work closely with Habitat for Humanity of Smith County as board and committee members, as well as with many other community organizations.
