Employee Campaign Coordinator Job Description
 
Objective: Enable your co-workers to participate in creating the strongest community by planning, organizing and coordinating a successful United Way of Tyler/Smith County Campaign within your company.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend the ECC Training provided by United Way
  • Work closely with your Loaned Executive (LE) and the United Way staff to develop an effective campaign plan
  • Recruit and coordinate a team of volunteers
  • Request Agency Speakers and tours from your Loaned Executive or United Way staff
  • Distribute and collect Campaign Materials
  • Coordinate Kick-Off and recognition events
  • Promote Campaign throughout your company
  • Coordinate a Leadership Giving Campaign
  • Invite everyone to give!
  • Complete Campaign by giving a final report and pledge forms to Loaned Executive or United Way staff
  • Thank your company and all those who contributed
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for next year

Mission of a Workplace Campaign
Achieve an established goal through…

  • Education - Making every employee aware of the needs in the community, which are met by the member agencies of United Way.
  • Solicitation - Giving every employee the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the campaign by having the right person ask for a guideline gift.
  • Appreciation - Thanking every employee who makes a contribution to the campaign.

Steps for Running a Successful Campaign

1. Preparation…Know the Facts

  • Review Materials provided by the United Way staff
  • Familiarize yourself with United Way agencies
  • Mark your calendar with important dates and deadlines
  • View the Campaign Video
  • Get the support of your CEO/Plant Manager
  • Review last year’s campaign
  • Tour an agency to see firsthand how your dollars help

2. Recruit and Steering Committee

  • Make sure you consider all departments: management, professional staff, organized labor, support staff and retirees.

3. Develop a Timeline

  • Commit as a group to common goals and objectives
  • Plan special events, solicitation methods, kick-off rally and a campaign theme
  • Develop a realistic timetable
  • Order materials and incentive rewards
  • Schedule group meetings and arrange for speaker/tours of agencies

4. Promote the Campaign

  • Use your company newsletter, voice mail, bulletin boards, and e-mail
  • Place flyers and posters throughout the building
  • Show Campaign video at events or in the lunchroom
  • Publicize your goal with thermometer posters
  • Implement Leadership program with endorsement from CEO and special solicitation meetings

5. Report Progress

  • Update your Campaign team and fellow employees
  • Tabulate results periodically from returned pledge cards
  • United Way staff or Loaned Executives will contact you for your results

6. Say Thank You

  • Thank everyone who played a role in your campaign success. Send a thank you letter on behalf of the CEO.
  • Plan a Thank you event
  • Summit your final results to United Way of Tyler/Smith County
